August 6 Anti-Olympic Action in solidarity with Fukushima, Hiroshima and Nagasaki
18:30 – 20:00 Appeal starts in front of JOC (Japanese Olympic Committee)
On July 16, IOC President Bach visited Hiroshima and Vice President Coates visited Nagasaki, and while there will be no moment of silence on August 6, there will be a moment of silence at the opening ceremony in memory of the Israeli athletes killed at the 1972 Munich Olympics. These events symbolize that the Olympics are not a “festival of peace” but a thoroughgoing “festival of politics.” We would like to connect the current situation in Fukushima, which has not been recovered, with Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and strongly protest against the forced realization of the Tokyo Olympics.
Remote remarks: from citizens of Hiroshima, Fukushima and Matsumoto
Gather in front of the JOC (Japanese Olympic Committee) on August 8! Appeal action for the closing ceremony to protest against the forced holding of the Tokyo Olympics and call for the abolition of the Olympics
19:00 Appeal starts in front of JOC (Japanese Olympic Committee)
We have continued to appeal for the immediate cancellation of the Tokyo Olympics at various places during the games. However, in spite of the unprecedented deterioration of the COVID-19 situation, the Tokyo Olympics were forced to be held until the end. We will never forgive those who disregarded our lives and forced the event to be held in favor of the profits of a few people. We will join our friends from around the world in calling for the abolition of all the Olympics scheduled to be held in Paris, LA and Brisbane, and we will voice our protest against the forced holding of the Tokyo Olympics at the closing ceremony.
We plan to issue an international joint statement.
